Sampling Control that Dramatically Extends Equipment Life
Precisely adapting the sampling rate to the signal reduces heat and extends equipment life by up to 4×.
In signal processing, sampling means converting analog data into digital data. The more samples, the more data to process — so the processing electronics consume more power and generate more heat.
Heat and lifetime of electronics are closely related: heat stresses components, and overheating can cause performance loss, errors and damage.
While the signal stays inside the window between Threshold Level High and Low, sampling runs at low speed; when a crack signal leaves the window, it switches to high-speed sampling. This precise control demands very high speed and accuracy.
