Fast-Response Rapid Threshold Gate
Pass/fail decisions are made directly in hardware logic, bypassing software for dramatically faster response.
MEGACOIL instruments offer three types of pass/fail gates. Among them, the rectangular Rapid Threshold gate has by far the fastest response — not because the other two are slow, but because this one is exceptionally fast.
Conventional gate sequence
The amplifier board digitizes the analog signal and collects data. Blocks of data are sent to the software for pass/fail judgement and display, and the result is sent back to the hardware.
Rapid Threshold gate sequence
Skipping data collection, transfer and software judgement, the decision is implemented in low-level hardware logic dedicated to pass/fail, for extremely fast results.
